“Kindness In The Community” Banquets

The latest of three free banquets, prepared for inner city residents, drew 600 local people of multiple races and religions. It was held at a popular banqueting hall, where 60 of Betel’s recovering addicts served area neighbours and the homeless a three-course meal. People could hardly believe our stories, astonished that these smiling, hard-working men and women were once robbing for drugs on the streets.

The evening’s message? That trust between neighbours isn’t extinct—people aren’t always out to get something. Men and women broken by drug and alcohol addiction can be healed, and because of God’s kindness in their own lives, they can bring kindness and healing to others.
